Topic: Can you
     Trust you
       Conscience?

 Biblical passage:
And for this reason I try to always have a conscience without offense before God and before men.  (Acts 24:16)

 INTRODUCTION
"Let your conscience be your guide."  This bit of popular knowledge seems to make sense, since our conscience is made to help us discern good from evil.  However, internal radar cannot always be trusted as a guide;  That is the case of non-believers, who do not have the Holy Spirit to tell them the truth and guide them to make wise decisions.  And although we Christians have the Spirit of God dwelling in us, we must be careful not to harbor sin, since this can interfere with the way our morality sensor works.
A trustworthy conscience is programmed with biblical teaching.  Believers build a firm and sensitive spiritual radar system by applying God's truth to their lives.  They take the resolution to think and act in ways that honor and please the Lord.  Then, when sinful thoughts or alternatives appear on that radar, it will send a clear warning.
The person with a reliable conscience has the sincere desire to obey God.  It does not conform to what seems to be or look good, but seeks the will of the Lord.  That is, it is not based solely on your conscience, but incorporates all the tools of the Holy Spirit into your daily life: the Bible and prayer.
Consciousness is not our guide;  It is a tool of the Guide.  The Holy Spirit not only convinces us of sin, but also brings to mind the divine principles, and leads us on the right path.  He uses various instruments to conform to the likeness of Christ
 (Ro 8.29).

 Conclusion & Prayer
Lord, help me to develop a reliable conscience, to be filled with the teachings of Your Word, and reflected my willingness to follow and obey you.
